TracManager Scheduling is an automated process for assigning labor processes to jobs with labor budgets based upon:

TracManager Scheduling is best utilized for custom work, where the skilled labor is the primary limiting condition. Rather than attempting to schedule a machine center to capacity, TracManager schedules multitasking employee resources.
If the availability of equipment would limit the production process then create an equipment list to be associated with those specific labor activities. There is an equipment “name” and an “equipment ID”. For example if you owned two CNC machines, you would provide a unique ID for each machine but the name for each machine would be the same. The “name” is used to associate with activities.
Create a list of equipment. Do not include minor tools that do not limit your production capacity.
The labor activities require a setup for scheduling purposes. For each activity that will be budgeted and scheduled set up the DEFAULT scheduling configuration.
Non-Constraining: If there are activities that will be budgeted, but will not be scheduled, check this check box. For example, a job may have “Supervision” hours budgeted, but this function is not scheduled by the scheduler.
Keep Together: If the activity is normally to be started and finished by the same employee, check this check box. For example, if a job budget had 24 hours of drafting and there were three qualified drafters, we would not want the system to schedule each drafter for 8 hours in one day. By checking this check box, the drafting would be scheduled to the same resource throughout the duration of the hours.
Equipment Required: The availability of equipment may be used to constrain the schedule. For example, if there were one CNC machine and three qualified operators and several jobs requiring CNC, we would need to limit the number of concurrent CNC functions based on the availability of the equipment. The equipment list must be set up before you can reference it.
SEQ #: The sequence number specifies the routing sequence throughout the manufacturing process. The lowest sequence number is the beginning and the highest is the completion.
Process Prerequisite: If the process prerequisite is set to CMPLT (Complete), all lower sequences must complete before this process is started. If the process prerequisite is set to START, the process may begin as long as the lower process is started.
Post Delay: The post delay specifies the number of hours to wait before allowing the next sequence to begin. This allows for drying or curing time etc.
Predecessors: If there are multiple process “lines” that converge and must be completed before starting the activity, you would set the predecessor activity code(s) that need to be completed first.
Minimum Employees: The minimum employee setting determines the minimum number of concurrent employees assigned to the activity.
Maximum Employees: The maximum employee setting determines the maximum number of concurrent employees assigned to the activity.
Each employee to be scheduled must have a list of activities that he is qualified to perform. Arrange the list so that the most preferred assignment is at the top and the least preferred at the bottom. When searching for a qualified resource, the scheduler will to assign to the most preferred available employee.
The initial resource availability calendar is automatically populated based upon the assigned employee work schedules (attendance schedule). The availability calendar takes into account planned absences and designated company holidays. An override to the employee resource availability can be made. For example, it is possible to temporarily change the setting for a specified workgroup to work the next two Saturdays from 6am to noon instead of the normal schedule.
The equipment schedule is based upon the equipment record, which indicates the number of hours the equipment is available per day.
A milestone event may appear in any job plan and may suspend progress until the event is cleared. Milestone events are assigned a sequence and will hold progress for sequences higher then the milestone. A use for a milestone event may be the completion of a site inspection prior to an installation.
